Interactions

• There are no known clinically significant drug or food interaction conflicts with Valtrex.

  Valtrex is often co-administered with antacids, cimetidine, probenicid, digoxin or thiazide diuretics in patients without other existing conditions.

Considerations

• Some people may have an allergy to the compounds in Valtrex and should not take it. Before taking this medication consult a doctor, as this is a prescription drug. Valtrex is typically not recommended by doctors for people with compromised immune systems, elderly populations, populations at risk for renal failure, nursing and pregnant women, and individuals who have recently had organ transplants.
