What is doksisiklin- prescribed for?
Doxycycline (Vibramycin, Atridox, and Oracea) is an antibiotic that is used for a variety of infections caused by bacteria. Such as those caused by Chlamydia and Mycoplasma. Other uses for doxycycline include:- Eye infections such as trachoma
- Urinary tract infections (UTIs) such as gonorrhea and syphilis
- Skin infections, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever and Lyme disease.
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including chlamydia and syphilis
- Tick-borne diseases including Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis, and tularemia
- Sinus and respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia.
