Malarone Instructions
Malarone is a combination of two medications used to treat or prevent malaria. The drug contains both atovaquone and proguanil. Malaria is caused by parasites. Malarone inhibits the parasites' ability to grow within red blood cells. Malaria usually infects the body via a mosquito bite. It's important to know exactly how to use Malarone for it to be effective in preventing or treating the disease.Instructions

Eat a small meal or snack. This will prevent stomach upset while taking the medication. If you are using Malarone to prevent Malaria, begin the medication two days before entering a Malaria-infected area and continue the dosage seven days after you leave.

Remove the dosage prescribed by your physician from the bottle. Place the medication in your mouth and swallow while drinking some milk.

Store Malorone at room temperature. Take the next dose the following day at the same time the first dose was taken. Do not stop taking Malarone if three days have not elapsed but your symptoms appear better. Continue to take the medication for three full days in a row or the complete time prescribed by your physician.
