Instructions for the Use of Drysol
Drysol (aluminum chloride hexahydrate) is a topical medication used to treat hyperhydrosis. People suffering from hypohydrosis sweat excessively, even during cold months. This typically happens for no apparent reason. Drysol is formulated to treat the sweating in as little as three days and works while you sleep. It is available in different strengths and can be used under the arms, on the hands or face and in other areas where sweating is an issue.Things You'll Need

Instructions

-
1
Dry the affected area before applying Drysol. If necessary, use a hair dryer to do so.
-
2
Apply medication to the affected area in a thin layer each day at bedtime. You don't need to rub it in. If used on the underarm, wear a t-shirt to bed to prevent medication from rubbing off onto your bedding. If using on your hands or feet, wrap affected area with plastic wrap and cover with gloves or socks after application. Leave socks or gloves on while you sleep. If using Drysol on your scalp, cover the skin with a thin layer and wear a shower cap to bed.
-
3
Let medication dry after applying before covering with clothing or going to bed. It is best to apply Drysol at bedtime when you are least likely to sweat. Also, it must remain on your skin for six to eight hours after application.
-
4
Remove your clothing, plastic covering and/or shower cap and wash with water upon waking. Rinse out shower cap and allow it to dry before using it again.
-
5
Wash treated area using soap (shampoo if used on the scalp) and dry. Do not use deodorants or antiperspirants while using Drysol.
-
6
Repeat the above steps for one to three days and then on a weekly basis to keep sweating under control.
