How to Administrate an Injection on the Butt Cheek
The buttock is a common site for intramuscular injection, along with the thigh and upper arm. When injecting into this location, it is important to follow the outlined procedure. Neglecting to do so can result in nerve damage, excess bleeding and inadequate treatment due to not receiving the proper amount of medication. Injections in the buttock can be done while standing or lying down on your stomach.Things You'll Need

Disinfect the injection site with alcohol. The proper placement for an intramuscular injection is in the upper-outer quadrant of either buttock.
