How to Use Gravol for Anti Nausea

Gravol is a brand name for dimenhydrinate. Other brand names for the medication include Dramamine, Vomex and Driminate. Gravol is used as both an anti-nausea medication and an anti-vertigo or anti-dizziness treatment. It is commonly used by people who experience motion sickness, but can also be used for general nausea and vomiting, post-operative nausea prevention and radiation sickness. Gravol comes in liquid, pills, suppositories and an injection solution. It can cause drowsiness and it is recommended that you avoid alcohol when using Gravol.

      Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water. Pat dry with a clean towel.

      Check the dosage information on the outside of your Gravol package. Pay close attention to the amount per dose you have. Recommended dosage for adults is 50 mg to 100 mg every four to eight hours, depending on whether or not it is oral or rectal. Do not exceed 400 mg in 24 hours. Child dosages vary, so read package details.

      Open your package of Gravol.

      Dispense the recommended dosage. If dispensing a liquid you may need a liquid medication measuring device.

      Take your dosage of Gravol. If you are taking tablets or capsules make sure you take them with water. If taking suppositories, smooth any rough edges for easier medication administration and comfort.

      Store your Gravol away from children, high temperatures and high humidity.
