Interaction Between Voltaren & Darvocet
When someone suffers from pain, it may be necessary for a doctor to prescribe medication to treat the condition, either short or long term. Two options are Voltaren and Darvocet.-
Voltaren
-
Voltaren, the brand name for diclofenac sodium, is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, commonly called an NSAID, used to treat swelling and pain. It may benefit people with conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Darvocet
-
Darvocet, the brand name for a combination of propoxyphene napsylate and acetaminophen, treats mild to moderate pain, with the dose adjusted based on a patient's severity of pain, ability to tolerate the medication and body size. Tolerance may occur with prolonged use.
Potential Drug Interactions
-
Voltaren and Darvocet do not appear to specifically interact with each other. However, Darvocet may interact with other pain medications, and Voltaren is indicated for pain treatment. It is best to consult with a doctor or a pharmacist before taking these medications simultaneously.
