Rx Assistance Programs

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 15.1 percent of Americans do not have health insurance. As a result, many people find it difficult or impossible to afford their prescription medications. Several pharmaceutical companies provide prescription assistance to persons in need at no cost to them. Prescription assistance programs use the Federal Poverty Guidelines to determine eligibility. As of 2009, the current federal poverty line for a family of four is $22,050.
