Treating side effects of Lisinopril
-
1
Treat the side effects of Lisinopril with over-the-counter medications designed to reduce fever and body aches. Be sure to speak with your physician or pharmacist about which medications are acceptable to take with Lisinopril, as drugs such as aspirins and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are contraindicated.
-
2
Drink any lemon-lime flavored soda with light carbonation or eat some dry saltine crackers to alleviate the side effects of nausea and vomiting. Over-the-counter anti-nausea medications can also be purchased in the health department of most supermarkets and at pharmacies. Other products which help reduce nausea are hot sweet tea and ginger. Ginger can be found in several forms such as tea, caplets and even cookies.
-
3
Use simple hydrocortisone creams or anti-itch creams to soothe skin rashes and irritation caused from Lisinopril. Antihistamine cream such as Benadryl may also be applied. In cases of a severe rash, stop taking the medication and contact your physician immediately.
