Seroquel is an antipsychotic medication. It works by changing the actions of certain chemicals in the brain, and can be prescribed for children over the age of 10 and adults.
Side Effects

The most common side effects associated with Seroquel are dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, dry mouth, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, blurred vision, headache, anxiety, breast swelling, missed menstrual periods and weight gain. These may be temporary, and are not severe in nature.
Serious Side Effects

Occasionally, Seroquel can cause serious adverse reactions such as panic attacks, feeling hostile, impulsive behavior, uneven heartbeats, uncontrolled movements, sudden numbness on one side of the body, problems with speech, balance problems, loss of coordination, or thoughts of suicide. If you have any of these serious side effects, contact your doctor immediately.
Life-Threatening Allergic Reaction

Although rare, Seroquel can cause a life-threatening allergic reaction. The symptoms are hives, swelling of the face, swelling of the lips, swelling of the tongue, difficulty breathing and wheezing. If you experience any of these symptoms, call for emergency medical help at once.

Take Seroquel exactly as your doctor has prescribed. Do not increase the dose or discontinue this medication without speaking with your doctor. Consult your doctor if you experience an allergic reaction.
