Instructions

    • 1

Follow your doctor's instructions for dosing. Your doctor will have you start with a certain number of pills, or liquid dose, on Day 1 and taper down to zero by the end of the prescription. Do not take more or less per day than your doctor advises, or take it more often than advised. The only exception is if you miss a dose.

    • 2

Measure the liquid formula in the dropper that came with the liquid. If a dropper was not included, use a medicine cup or a measuring spoon. To not use a standard dining spoon because they do not measure accurately.

    • 3

Take your dose at the same time each day, preferably in the morning with a meal and a full glass of water. The steroid will build up in your system and taking it the same time each day will ensure that your blood levels build at a constant rate.

Make adjustments if you miss a dose. If you take one dose per day and it is early in the day, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If you take more than one dose per day, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is close to time for your next dose, take both doses together. If you take one dose per day and it is close to bed time, take both doses the following morning.
