What Is Pericoronitis?

Pericoronitis is inflammation of the gums at the back of the mouth above the wisdom teeth, when they start to emerge or break through the gum. The gum over or around it swells and causes extreme throbbing discomfort and tenderness, making speaking, chewing, or swallowing hard work.
