How rare is H1N1?

The H1N1 strain of influenza, also known as "swine flu", was responsible for a global pandemic in 2009-2010. Since then, it has continued to circulate as a seasonal influenza virus, albeit at lower levels compared to the peak of the pandemic. It remains in circulation but is now one of several influenza strains that circulate seasonally; hence, it can no longer be considered rare. Ongoing surveillance and vaccination efforts help monitor and mitigate its impact during influenza seasons.
