What is minimal bibasilar scarring?
Minimal bibasilar scarring is a condition in which there is a small amount of scarring in the lower lobes of both lungs. This scarring is usually caused by inflammation, such as that which occurs in pneumonia or tuberculosis, or by exposure to certain toxins or chemicals. In most cases, minimal bibasilar scarring does not cause any symptoms and does not require treatment. However, in some cases, it can lead to shortness of breath or other respiratory problems.
