What is pachymeningeal?

Pachymeningeal refers to the thick outer layer of the meninges, the connective tissue membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord.

It is composed of dense connective tissue and contains blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic channels. The pachymeninx is located between the dura mater and the skull and is continuous with the epineurium of the spinal cord. It provides protection for the underlying neural tissue and helps maintain the integrity of the central nervous system.
