Desonide Cream Uses
-
Eczema
-
Desonide cream is used to treat the fairly common skin condition known as eczema. Eczema is an inflammation of the skin that results in itchy rashes. The rashes are also accompanied by dryness, redness and flaky or crusty skin on the outer layer of the epidermis. Scarring may occur if a healing cut is reopened. Eczema is likely to occur on the flexor part of the joint, which include knuckles and wrists. There are nearly a dozen different kinds of eczema and it can affect all ages including infants.
Rosacea
-
Desonide helps reduce redness caused by rosacea, a chronic skin condition that occurs on the face. Rosacea can develop in both sexes, but predominately occurs in women. It is a cosmetic condition that typically does no harm, other than marring the appearance of the affected area. Rosacea typically affects the central part of the face, across the bridge of the nose and cheeks, and can spread to the forehead. In more severe cases red bumps or pustules can develop.
Skin Allergies
-
Desonide is also used to treat discomfort associated with skin allergies, regardless of the cause. Some common causes of skin allergies are metals such as nickel and gold, and certain fragrance ingredients like balsam of Peru.
