Organic Skin Care & Acne Remedies

Taking care of the skin is one of the most important aspects of treating and preventing acne. Organic skin care products are readily available at health food stores and super markets, but you can save yourself a lot of money by using homemade organic skin care products to prevent acne. There's no need to spend so much money on over-priced organic skin care products. With a few simple ingredients, you can hydrate, cleanse and maintain soft, supple skin.
  1. Use Organic Food Products

    • Use organic food products to care for your skin and prevent acne outbreaks. Purchase organic honey, organic heavy cream and organic olive oil at your local grocery or health food store. Take some organic honey and mix it with 1/2 the amount of olive oil. Heat slightly in the microwave and stir the ingredients together so they are smooth and mixed. Apply directly to the face with caution that the honey/oil mixture isn't too hot. Leave on the face for 10 to 15 minutes, and then wipe off the excess. Rinse your face with hot water to remove the rest of the honey. Make homemade whipped cream from the organic heavy cream by beating the cream for 1 to 2 minutes. Apply to the face and use as a moisturizing facial mask.

    Use Natural Acne Remedies

    • Use natural acne remedies to treat and prevent acne. Avoid sun exposure at all costs. If in the sun, especially with snow, water or sand, apply a generous amount of sunscreen with an SPF of 30 higher. Stay in the shade as much as possible, as the sun can damage and dry out the skin. Do not wash the face more than twice a day with a mild, organic soap. Moisturize the skin immediately after washing the face with an organic moisturizer. Avoid use of oily hair products that can irritate the skin, causing an acne breakout.

    Use Topical Herbs

    • Use tea tree oil to treat acne according to the Mayo clinic. Use tea tree oil in a gel form, which can be purchased at a health food store. Apply two to three times a day directly on the affected areas. Use caution and discontinue use of tea tree oil if you notice a rash or breakout on your face after use. Apply organic aloe vera gel to entire face on a daily basis to maintain the proper balance of moister in the skin without over-treating.
