1
Ask your doctor about medications to relieve your groin itch. If you have jock itch, topical and/or oral fungal medications can kill the fungus and relieve symptoms. If you have herpes, genital warts or some type of rash, your doctor can suggest appropriate medications to treat these flare-ups. Take all medications as directed, and do not stop or alter your treatments without talking to your doctor.

2
Wear loose-fitting, cotton underwear and clothing that allows your skin to breathe. Avoid tight pants, pantyhose and other restrictive clothing. Keeping the area cool and dry will alleviate itching.

3
Dry off thoroughly after bathing or showering.

4
Avoid using personal care products like feminine deodorants in the groin area; they contain chemicals that can irritate the skin and worsen itching.
-
5
Apply ice or cold compresses to the groin. The coolness will ease inflammation and itching.

Try natural topical treatments shown to relieve itching; these include witch hazel, calendula, chickweed, chamomile, sarsaparilla and marshmallow. Check with your doctor first, and discontinue if you notice that symptoms worsen or you see any signs of irritation.
