How to Treat Razer Burn
If you shave your legs or face, you have likely encountered razor burn, a type of sometimes painful rash caused by the razor stripping away the top layer of your skin. During the summer, razor burn on your legs can also be embarrassing if you plan to wear a bathing suit. If you notice razor burn forming after a shave, you can treat it to minimize the redness and pain.Things You'll Need
- Ice pack
- Oatmeal
- Aloe vera, tea tree oil, cocoa butter or witch hazel
- Apple cider vinegar
- Hydrocortisone cream
- Petroleum jelly
- Aspirin

Wrap an ice pack in a washcloth or towel, then hold the pack over the razor burn. This may help to minimize the soreness.

Add a pack of oatmeal to a warm bathtub, then sit in the tub for 20 minutes. This method is useful for burns on your legs.

Use a natural treatment on the affected area, such as aloe vera gel, tea tree oil mixed with water and sprayed on, witch hazel or cocoa butter. You may also set a slice of potato on top of the burned area. Strawberries and sour cream can be mashed together to create a cooling, moisturizing mask.

Rub hydrocortisone cream on the razor burn. This helps stop the itching and prevents the razor burn from spreading across your skin. A small amount of petroleum jelly may also treat the irritated area.
