Healthdyne Nebulizer Instructions
A compressor nebulizer is a device that converts liquid medication into a fine mist that is inhaled by patients who suffer from conditions such as asthma. It is particularly helpful for use by children or those who have problems using an inhaler. The versions designed for home use are a convenient way for patients to remain compliant to their treatment regimens. The Healthdyne company manufactured such a device, but it has since be acquired by Phillips Respironics, and the unit is now known as the Inspiration 626 compressor nebulizer.Things You'll Need

Instructions for Use
-
1
Place the device on a flat, firm surface near an electrical outlet, so the unit is plugged in while in use.
-
2
Wash your hands, thoroughly, before opening the device and touching any of the parts inside.
-
3
Measure the prescribed amount of medication, and pour it into the medication cup, which is located immediately below the nebulizer mouthpiece. Some medications come in pre-measured doses; but, if you need to measure it each time, be sure to use a clean measuring cup.
-
4
Connect one end of the nebulizer tubing to the air outlet port and the other end to the bottom of the medication nebulizer.
-
5
Turn the device on using the "ON/OFF" switch on the left-hand side, as you face the device. A light mist will begin to flow from the mouthpiece, which will signal that the treatment is ready to begin.
-
6
Breathe in slowly and deeply to allow the medication to saturate deep into the lungs. Hold your breath for two-to-three seconds during each intake, to ensure that the medication is distributed, thoroughly.
-
7
Continue with the treatment, until all of the medication is gone. Oftentimes, the unit will sputter when there is no more medication remaining. Turn off the machine when finished.
