How does the air passes into trachea when epiglottis is?
During normal breathing when the epiglottis is open, air easily passes into the trachea. The epiglottis is a flexible flap of cartilage located at the top of the trachea, just below the base of the tongue. When a person swallows, the epiglottis closes to prevent food and drink from entering the trachea and lungs.
