1
Change out the water in the vaporizer's reservoir in the morning when you turn it off after the prior night's use. Leaving water to sit in the vaporizer can lead to the build up of harmful bacteria in the water.
-
2
Use distilled in the vaporizer if available, to produce the purest steam, which will cause the least amount of discomfort to the areas in need of the vapor.
-
3
Fill the vaporizer to the marked fill line on the vaporizer before going to bed. Filling above the line can lead to the vaporizer not functioning properly.
-
4
Position the vaporizer approximately 4 feet away from the bed of the individual that needs its help. Too close can lead to burns from the steam, however moving too far away will lower the effectiveness of the vaporizer.
-
5
Avoid placing a vaporizer in the room of a child if they have a bed that enables him to get out of bed at night, as the child may move to close too the vaporizer and be injured.
-
6
Turn on the vaporizer before going to bed, and it will emit steam around you as you sleep, helping to moisturize your nasal cavities.
