For some reason sometimes when I wake up my left or right arm gets numb for a couple of minutes i ve kind been wondering why does this happen?
There are a few reasons why your arm might go numb when you wake up.
* Sleeping position: If you sleep in a position that puts pressure on your arm, such as sleeping on your side with your arm underneath your pillow, it can cut off circulation and cause your arm to go numb.
* Repetitive motions: If you perform repetitive motions with your arm during the day, such as working at a computer or playing a musical instrument, it can irritate the nerves and cause numbness.
* Medical conditions: Numbness in the arm can also be a symptom of certain medical conditions, such as a pinched nerve, carpal tunnel syndrome, or a stroke.
If you are experiencing numbness in your arm that is frequent or severe, it is important to see a doctor to rule out any underlying medical conditions.
Here are some tips to help prevent your arm from going numb when you wake up:
* Avoid sleeping in positions that put pressure on your arms.
* Take breaks from repetitive motions during the day.
* Stretch your arms and shoulders regularly.
* Maintain a healthy weight.
* Quit smoking.
