What Does Mirapex Treat?

Mirapex was approved by the FDA in November of 2006. It has since been prescribed for various diseases and conditions.
  1. Function

    • Mirapex treats Restless Leg Syndrome, or RLS, and eases the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

    Method

    • Mirapex stimulate dopamine in parts of the brain that are lacking in it and boosts its production.

    Components

    • Mirapex, or pramipexole dihydrochloride, contains pramipexole, a dopamine agonist.

    Additional Uses

    • Mirapex is sometimes prescribed for illnesses not listed on the label, such as fybromyalgia.

    Side Effects

    • Side effects of Mirapex may include drowsiness, hallucinations, dizziness, headaches, leg cramps, dry mouth and erectile dysfunction.
