What is the cause of inversion foot?

* Congenital talipes equinovarus (clubfoot): This is the most common cause of inversion foot. Clubfoot is a birth defect in which the foot is turned inward and downward.

* Tarsal coalition: This is a condition in which two or more bones in the tarsus (the bones of the ankle and hindfoot) are fused together. Tarsal coalition can cause the foot to turn inward.

* Peroneal nerve palsy: This is a condition in which the peroneal nerve, which controls the muscles that evert (turn outward) the foot, is damaged. Peroneal nerve palsy can cause the foot to turn inward.

* Trauma: Inversion foot can also be caused by trauma, such as a fracture or dislocation of the foot.

* Other conditions: Inversion foot can also be caused by other conditions, such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and muscular dystrophy.
