1
Maintain cleanliness in the area affected by the candida infection. Wash the area gently using warm water and a soft cloth. Refrain from using soap if possible, as some soaps -- especially those with dyes and fragrances -- can further irritate the area. If you go for a run, wash the infection site as soon as possible, once you return.
-
2
Expose the infected area to air. One of the best ways to do this is to wear loosely fitting clothes that are made from natural fibers, such as cotton. Moisture can worsen a candida infection, so air exposure helps to dry out the area. If you have a candida problem in the are of your feet and toes, wear moisture-wicking socks and running shoes that feature mesh, which will allow your feet to breathe more efficiently.

3
Apply anti-fungal creams to the area. You can buy some anti-fungal creams over-the-counter, whereas a prescription is required with other anti-fungal medications.
-
4
Take oral anti-fungal medications, if advised to do so by your doctor.
