Things You'll Need
- Olive oil
- Dried lavender
- Bottle with airtight seal
- Saucepan
Instructions

Cold Oil Infusion
-
1
Place dried lavender in a glass jar. Any trace of water in the lavender can make the olive oil go bad.
-
2
Add olive oil to the jar, pouring it over the lavender.
-
3
Place the jar on a window sill or another sunny spot. Let it sit in the sunlight for about a month. The sun will release the flavor and aroma of the lavender into the oil. Shake the bottle daily to mix the lavender and olive oil together.
-
4
Strain the oil. Pour the infused olive oil through cheesecloth, then pour the oil into an airtight bottle.

Place herbs and olive oil in a saucepan so that there is one cup of oil for every half cup of herbs. Heat the oil over medium heat. Stir constantly and heat until the oil reaches 140 degrees, the oil begins to bubbly a little or the spices begin to sizzle.
-
6
Cook the olive oil for five minutes.
-
7
Remove the pan from the stove. Carefully pour the olive oil and lavender into a glass bowl, where it can cool.
-
8
Add the remaining olive oil to the infused olive oil. Strain the oil through a cheesecloth and bottle in an airtight container.
