How to Make Hands Wrinkly

As a child most of us spend lots of time playing in the bathtub. After soaking in the water for ten minutes or so, our hands wrinkle. This is caused by the outer layers of skin literally soaking up some of the water in the bathtub, causing the skin to pucker. This also happens when doing the dishes without wearing gloves. The effect of wrinkled hands only lasts for a few minutes and your skin returns to normal after that. Although this is a neat effect temporarily, most people want to avoid long term and permanent hand wrinkling.

Instructions

    • 1

Pour a bath tub full or a sink full of lukewarm water. Because the skin on your hands is thicker than the rest of the body, it absorbs water that becomes trapped between the outer layers of the skin. The swollen skin then becomes wrinkled temporarily

    • 2

Place your hands into the water and allow them to soak for approximately ten minutes. After ten minutes pull your hands out of the water and look to see if the skin has wrinkled yet. If it has not wrinkled, then place your hands back into the water for a few minutes more.

Pull your hands out of the water once they are wrinkled and dry them off. Your hands will remain wrinkled for approximately ten minutes. Once your skin returns to normal, your skin may feel very dry. Dry skin can lead to lasting wrinkles, if the moisture is not replenished so make sure that you rub lotion or oil onto your hands after the wrinkling has disappeared.
