How to Get Rid of Water Bubbles on Hands
Water bubbles, also known as water blisters, are fluid-filled sacs that appear on the hands due to burns, insect bites, and excessive rubbing and friction, such as playing tennis or raking leaves. Water bubbles cause discomfort and itchiness. Treatment involves cleaning the blister, applying antibiotic cream and covering with a bandage.Things You'll Need
- Soap
- Rubbing alcohol
- Needle
- Towel
- Gauze
- Antibiotic cream
- Bandage
- Surgical tape
Instructions
-
-
1
Wash the hands thoroughly with soap and water.
-
2
Use rubbing alcohol to disinfect the needle.
-
3
Puncture the blister with the needle, making sure to create a hole on the edge of the bubble rather than on the surface.
-
4
Press the blister toward the hole to drain fluid from the bubble. Avoid not tearing or removing the loose skin covering the wound. This skin protects the wound underneath and prevents it from becoming infected. Simply smooth the loose skin to lay flat.
-
5
Clean the blister gently with soap and water and pat dry with a clean towel or gauze.
-
6
Apply over-the-counter antibiotic cream to the blister to prevent infection.
-
7
Apply a loose bandage or gauze over the blister and secure it with surgical tape.
