How to Get the Soles of My Feet Soft

Sometimes the soles of your feet get rough and ragged, especially if you spend a lot of time barefoot or if your job has you working on your feet. Your heels can be especially rough and possibly callused. Softening the soles of the feet is possible; it just takes a little bit of preparation and a small amount of elbow grease if there are calluses to slough away.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a foot tub with warm water and blend in about five drops of lavender essential oil. Lavender oil will help soften the feet and make them smell good. Soak feet in the tub for 10 to 15 minutes, then pat dry with a small towel.

Rub a pumice stone along the bottoms of your feet to slough away calluses. Calluses generally appear on the front pads of the soles and on the heels; sometimes they are even along the outside of the side of the sole. A pumice stone gently removes dead skin and can soften the sole where calluses once roughened it.

Rinse off the dead, hard skin that was sloughed away with the pumice stone and massage some cocoa butter body lotion into the soles of the feet. Lotions that contain cocoa butter can be extra softening, so they are a great choice for softer soles.

Put on a pair of white socks. This will warm the feet and the lotion, allowing for better absorption into the skin, leading to much softer soles.
