Halog Ointment Uses

Halog ointment is a type of corticosteroid that is applied topically in order to reduce inflammation or itchiness. This type of ointment comes in several different strengths, but is only available through prescription. Halcinonide is the active ingredient in Halog ointment, which is added in a ratio of 1mg of halcinonide, to 1g of inactive ingredients, which include a plasticized hydrocarbon gel and polyethylene glycols.
  1. Topical Use

    • Spread the ointment on areas of skin that are inflamed or that itch two to three times per day in a very thin coat or as otherwise directed by a doctor. Certain conditions such as psoriasis may necessitate the need to use Halog, but should only be used according to medical advice. Do not get the ointment in your eyes, as it is intended for topical use only.
