How to Clear Dry Skin on the Face

Having dry skin is a common problem that can be caused by a variety of problems such as being outside for long periods of time, soaps and cleansers, as well as diet and becoming older. However, there are certain things you can do to fight dry skin, ensuring your skin healthy for years to come.

Instructions

    • 1

Drink the recommended amount of water every day (8 - 8 ounce glasses). You may even want to drink a few more glasses than recommended to start off treating your skin.

    • 2

When taking a shower, use lukewarm water and shower for 15 minutes or less. Do not rub hard when using a washcloth either. Gently wipe your skin with the cloth in order to avoid drying.

    • 3

Wipe Vitamin E enriched skin cream all over your skin. Use it the recommended number of times per day as stated on the cream you buy.

    • 4

Eat foods that will help your skin even further. Eat plenty of fresh fish and add 1 tbsp. of flax seed to one of your meals, such as your breakfast cereal.

    • 5

Place a cool-mist humidifier in your bedroom when you sleep if you continue to experience dry skin (especially during the winter). This is most likely due to your indoor heating. Use it every night for around 3 to 7 days and your skin will become moist and less dry.
