Scarguard Instructions

Many of us have acquired scars from our childhood to adulthood, some of varying color and size. While we're lucky that some scars fade on their own with time, others needs help from products on the market designed to fade or eliminate scarring altogether. According to Scarguard.com, Scarguard is a liquid product that forms a clear, protective layer over a scar "while delivering hydrocortisone, vitamin E and silicone, all known to help reduce scar tissue."

Instructions

  1. Raised Scar

    • 1

      Wash scarred area with soap and water. Pat dry.

      Brush Scarguard MD gel onto scarred area twice daily.

      Allow it to dry for 1 minute before covering with clothing.

      Peel off layer of skin from scar if it is already peeling. If it's not, do not attempt peeling. This is because the peeling layer of scar is actually dead skin disconnecting from the live tissue. Applying Scarguard MD gel on top of dead skin is not going to effectively treat the scar tissue that is beneath the peeling layers; however, forcing the scar to peel may only be counterproductive because it can cause even more scarring.

      Continue applying Scarguard MD gel twice daily until the scar is flat and soft.

    Discolored Scar

      Wash scarred area with soap and water. Pat dry.

      Brush Scarguard's Scarlight MD gel onto scarred area twice daily. Scarlight is a combination of homeopathic ingredients and medical lighteners. It can be used alone to lighten dark scars, freckles and age spots.

      Allow it to dry for 1 minute before covering with clothing.

      Continue applying Scarlight MD gel daily until the darkened scar fades.

    Discolored Raised Scar

      Wash scarred area with soap and water. Pat dry.

      Brush Scarlight MD gel onto scarred area twice daily. Because Scarlight can lighten scars, used in as a combination with Scarguard MD, the scar can be removed completely.

      Allow it to dry for a few minutes. It's important to allow Scarlight to dry before applying Scarguard for maximum effectiveness.

      Brush on Scarguard MD gel over the scar. Peel off layer of skin from scar if it is already peeling. If it's not, do not attempt peeling.

      Allow Scarguard to dry before covering with clothing.

      Continue usage twice daily until scar fades. If the color fades first, you may discontinue Scarlght MD gel. If the scar shrinks, but remains discolored, discontinue Scarguard MD gel.
