What are the most common skin types?
The most common skin types are oily, dry, combination and sensitive:
Oily skin: This skin type is prone to acne, blackheads, and whiteheads. It has larger pores and produces more sebum (oil) than other skin types. It can look shiny and feel greasy, especially in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin).
Dry skin: This skin type lacks oil and moisture, making it prone to dryness, flakiness, and irritation. It can feel rough and tight, especially after washing or in dry climates. Dry skin is more prone to fine lines and wrinkles.
Combination skin: This is the most common skin type. It has a mix of oily and dry areas. The T-zone is usually oily while the cheeks are normal to dry.
Sensitive skin: This skin type is prone to redness, itching, and irritation from certain products or environmental factors such as sun, wind, or pollution. It can react easily to new skincare products or treatments.
