What temperature should a painted turtle be in?
The ideal temperature range for painted turtles is 70-85°F (21-29°C). They can tolerate temperatures as high as 95°F (35°C) for short periods of time, but prolonged exposure to temperatures above this can be dangerous. Painted turtles also need to have a cool, humid place to retreat to when they need to cool down. This can be a shady area in the water, or a moist hide box filled with sphagnum moss or other moisture-retentive material.
