Moisten a wash cloth with cool water. Apply an antibacterial soap to the cloth, and clean the red flea bug bites using gentle pressure. Rinse the affected area of skin with cool water. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel and avoid rubbing as the action may irritate the bites.

Cover the bite marks with an anti-inflammatory or 1% hydrocortisone cream. Gently rub and pat the cream onto the red and itchy area.

Place three or four ice cubes into a plastic bag. Hold the bag against the flea bites for 20 seconds to 30 seconds. Remove the bag and let the skin rest for 30 seconds. Continue alternating the bag on and off the area for five minutes to 10 minutes. The ice numbs the area while reducing inflammation and redness.
