How to Mix Borax With Sulfur

Borax is sodium borate and is a compound of boron. It is a mineral that dissolves easily in water and is often used in detergent and cosmetics. Sulfur is also a naturally occurring mineral, often found near hot springs and volcanoes. Sulfur has been used medicinally for thousands of years and was one of few known ways to combat infection before antibiotics were developed. When combined, borax and sulfur can create a medicinal skin treatment for many skin conditions such as acne or scabies.

  Mix a Tbsp. of Borax in a cup of water and stir until dissolved.

  Add a tsp. of food-grade (or safe for human consumption) sulfur powder to your solution. Sulfur powders considered safe for humans are available online and in some pharmacies. You may be able to ask your pharmacist to order it for you.

  Add a few shavings of a sulfur soap bar to your mixture if you are unable to find sulfur powder.

  Stir the water, Borax and sulfur until it is well combined.

  Apply some of the solution to the affected area as needed.
