Should you cover blister with a bandage?
If the Blister Is Small
If the blister is small (about the size of a pencil eraser), you can usually safely cover it with an adhesive bandage until healed.
If the Blister Is Large or Painful
If the blister is large or painful, it's best to see a doctor to have it professionally drained. Covering a large or painful blister with a bandage can put pressure on the blister and cause more pain.
Signs of Infection
If the blister shows any signs of infection (including redness, swelling, or drainage of pus), see a doctor immediately.
