Dermarest is a skin treatment product that is available without a prescription. The generic name for Dermarest is salicylic acid topical medication, and salicyclic acid contains compounds that help to peel skin, which is useful when treating skin disorders such as warts, corns and acne, according to Drugs.com. Dermarest is used to treat symptoms associated with eczema, psoriasis and several other skin disorders.
  1. Eczema

    • Eczema is inflammation of the skin that causes dryness, itching and sometimes bleeding if the skin becomes too raw from constant scratching.
