How to Treat Razor Bumps in the Pubic Area
Razor bumps, known medically as pseudofolliculitis barbae, occur when shaved hair starts regrowing. The hairs curl inward and grow into the skin, causing inflammation. The result is small, itchy bumps on the shaved area. Public hair is particularly prone to getting razor bumps because it tends to be more coarse and curly. Razor bumps can cause pimples and scarring so it's best to get rid of them immediately.Things You'll Need
- Alcohol
- Needle
- Antibiotic ointment
- Towel
- Small cloth

Wash the pubic area with a mild soap and water. Pat the area with a towel.

Sterilize a needle with alcohol. Dip the needle in rubbing alcohol and put it on a clean cloth.Wait for it to dry.

Free the trapped hair with the tip of the needle. Hold the needle at a 45 degree angle. Do not poke deeply into the skin. If the hair will not come out after two attempts, leave it alone.

Coat the pubic area with an antibiotic ointment. This will prevent the razor bumps from getting infected.

Do not shave the area for at least a week. This will give the bumps time to heal and prevent further irritation.
