How to Cure a Stye on the Eyelid
A stye is an oil gland that has become inflamed due to bacterial contamination. The oil gland becomes red and swollen, and is often painful, especially when touched. Styes often look like pimples. In a few days, the stye will drain and heal. In the meantime, treatment can be implemented to control the pain and swelling.Things You'll Need
- Wash cloth
- Cotton swab
- Baby shampoo
- Antibacterial ointment

Apply a warm compress to the affected eye for 10 minutes, three to four times a day. To make a warm compress, soak a washcloth with hot water. Ring out the washcloth and put it on the eye.

Apply a small amount of antibacterial ointment. Put a pin-sized amount of ointment on a cotton swab. Gently press the cotton swab onto the stye for two to three seconds.

Wash the eyelid with baby shampoo everyday. Mix three to five drops of baby shampoo with one cup of warm water. Dip a cotton swab into the mixture. Clean the infected eyelid with the cotton swab. You can wash both eyelids if you're prone to getting styes. Use a separate cotton swab for each eyelid.
