How to Cure & Ease the Pain From Keloids
A keloid is a raised, fleshy bump comprised of scar tissue cells. The condition can develop anytime your skin becomes injured and scar tissue cells continue to multiply, even after the original injury has healed. Keloids form most readily on the earlobes, chest, upper back and shoulders, but can form anywhere. They often cause pain, itching, tenderness and a change in skin pigmentation. Keloids are notoriously difficult to get rid of completely, but there are recommendations on how to resolve the pain and reduce the size associated with the condition.Things You'll Need

1
Apply silicone cream to the keloid daily for at least three months. The cream reduces the itching, pain and inflammation. Silicone may help shrink small keloids.
-
2
Wrap a short stretch-compression bandage around the keloid. Change the bandage every week. The compression bandage helps to flatten the keloid over a 12-month period. Do not use long stretch-compression bandages without doctor approval.

Consult a dermatologist who can give you more treatment options, including corticosteroid injections, cryotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. These methods are all highly effective, but you can not do them yourself.
