How to Get Rid of Sun Splotches

Sun splotches are dark brown spots that appear on the skin as a result of exposure to the sun. They are often referred to as sun spots or age spots. Many people see them emerge as they age, but they can also appear on younger people. While some specialists recommend removing them with costly skin peeling treatments or bleaching, they can be removed much more simply and naturally at home.

Instructions

  1. Daily Treatment, Before Going Outside

    • 1

Cut the lemon and squeeze the juice into a small measuring cup. You will want to use 2-3tbsp. juice per treatment.

    • 2

Soak the cotton swab in the juice.

    • 3

Wipe the lemon juice onto the splotches using the cotton pad. Let the juice dry.

    • 4

Apply sunscreen to the affected areas before going out.

    • 5

Repeat for approximately three weeks or until you see the splotches disappear.

    Daily Treatment, Before the Bath

    • 6

Mix the olive oil and vinegar in a small mixing bowl with a spoon.

    • 7

Dip a cotton swab in the mixture, apply to the sun splotches one hour before bathing.

    • 8

Repeat by itself or along with the treatment in Section 1 until the splotches disappear.

    Daily Treatment, Morning and Nighttime

    • 9

Pour Castor oil into your palm.

    • 10

Rub the oil into the skin over the affected area. Rub it well so that the skin absorbs the oil.

    • 11

Repeat every morning and every evening.

    Daily Treatment, Diet and Habits

    • 12

Avoid excess alcohol, fatty foods, and caffeine. These have been known to affect the glandular system, which can cause skin problems.

    • 13

Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Keeping yourself hydrated will help this and other skin conditions.

    • 14

Eat foods high in lean protein, raw fruits and take Vitamin E supplements.

    • 15

Stay inside or in the shade between the hours of 10AM and 3PM. The sun's UV rays are at their highest during these hours. If you do have to go outside, wear a broad brimmed hat.
