How to Treat Underarm Razor Rash
Itchy, painful, bumpy underarm razor rash can be caused by a number of factors, including a dull razor, shaving in the opposite direction of natural hair growth, dry skin caused by astringent underarm deodorant, and "dry" shaving --- not using any or enough skin lubrication to make the razor glide smoothly. Although prevention is the best cure, there are several home remedies to alleviate the discomfort of underarm razor rash using items you may already have in your house.Things You'll Need
- Potato
- Peeler
- Aloe vera gel
- Unscented lotion
- Strawberries

1
Let the rash heal with time. If you can, stop shaving your rash-riddled underarms for a week or two to allow the skin to heal.

2
Soothe the itch. Rubbing a raw potato on the underarm rash can soothe the itch. Peel the potato and pretend it's a stick of deodorant as you gently glide the potato over the affected area.

3
Moisturize the skin. Aloe vera gel and lotion can ease the itch and pain and also help moisturize your underarm skin to prevent future razor rash. Apply a light layer of aloe vera gel or unscented lotion (scent can further irritate your sensitive rash) on your armpits at bedtime.

Prevent infection. The rash isn't serious, but the little bumps may still become infected. Crush some strawberries with the back of a spoon and rub the pulp on your underarm razor rash; strawberries have natural antiseptic properties. You can also dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and cleanse the affected area --- the vinegar soothes the itch and prevents infection.
