Cordran Ointment Uses
-
Appearance
-
Cordran is sold mostly in tubes, although Cordran tapes also are available. The ointment in the tube is white to off-white in color, odorless and appears fluffy. Flurandrenolide is not water-soluble.
Application
-
Before applying Cordran, wash and dry the irritated area. Use a small amount of the ointment and massage a thin film onto the affected area and skin around it. Keep the area uncovered and free of anything restrictive, such as tight clothing, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Dosage
-
Apply Cordran one to four times per day, depending on your condition. This applies to moist lesions as well as dry lesions. For more serious conditions such as psoriasis, a doctor may recommend using occlusive dressing around the affected area after you massage the ointment onto the skin. If you miss a dose, use the ointment as soon as you remember. Discontinue use immediately if an infection develops.
Side Effects
-
Hives, swelling of body parts, or difficulty breathing may be signs of an allergic reaction to Cordran. Seek medical help immediately. Other side effects include insomnia, blurred vision and fatigue. Some minor side effects include dryness of skin, blisters and changes in the color of treated area.
