How to Keep Ear Pimples Away

Pimples are common on the face and back. However, they aren't limited to these areas of the body, and some people develop pimples on their ears. Like other pimples, ear pimples can itch or cause irritation. Ear pimples respond to treatment; but if you deal with frequent pimples on the ear, you can take steps to reduce your number of outbreaks.

Instructions

Clean your ears daily. When showering or bathing, don't forget to wash your ears with warm, soapy water to remove oil and dirt. A buildup of oil and dirt can clog pores around the ear and trigger ear pimples.

    • 2

Select hairstyles that don't involve the hair covering the ears. Oils from hair sprays, gels or styling sheen can clog pores around the ears and cause breakouts.

    • 3

Keep hands off your ears. Limiting hand contact with your ears can reduce your number of ear pimples. Hands can hold dirt, bacteria and oils, which can transfer to your ears if touched, causing pimples.

Take preventative measures. Purchase a gentle acne astringent from the drug store and apply it daily to remove dirt and kill bacteria that can cause ear pimples. If your acne doesn't respond to drug store brands, see a dermatologist for a prescription acne medication.
