Postpartum Night Sweats: What to Do

1. Wear loose, cotton clothing. This will help keep you cool and comfortable.

2. Keep the temperature in your room cool. Set your thermostat to around 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.

3. Take a cool bath or shower before bed. This will help lower your body temperature.

4. Sleep with a fan on. This will help circulate cool air around your body.

5. Avoid heavy blankets and comforters. These can trap heat and make you feel even hotter.

6. Elevate your head and shoulders. This will help prevent congestion and improve breathing.

7. Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids before bed, especially water.

8. Limit caffeine and alcohol. These can worsen night sweats.

9. Eat a light meal before bed. A heavy meal can make you feel hot and uncomfortable.

10. Talk to your doctor. If your night sweats are severe or disruptive to your sleep, talk to your doctor. There may be an underlying medical condition that needs to be treated.
