Why is it bad to sleep with a bra on?

There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that sleeping with a bra on is bad for you.

In fact, *a 2014 study published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine found that women who wore bras to bed had a lower risk of breast cancer than women who did not.* The study authors theorized that this may be because bras help to support the breasts and prevent them from sagging.

Another study, published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention in 2015, found that women who wore bras for more than 12 hours a day had a higher risk of developing breast cancer than women who wore bras for less than 12 hours a day. However, this study did not control for other factors that could contribute to breast cancer risk, such as age, weight, and family history of breast cancer.

So, while there is no definitive evidence to say that sleeping with a bra on is bad for you, there is also no evidence to say that it is good for you. If you are comfortable sleeping with a bra on, then there is no reason to stop. However, if you are uncomfortable sleeping with a bra on, then there is no need to start.

Here are some additional things to consider when deciding whether or not to sleep with a bra on:

* Your breast size. Women with larger breasts may find that a bra helps to provide support and reduce pain.

* Your sleep position. If you sleep on your stomach, you may find that a bra is uncomfortable.

* Your personal preference. Some women simply find it more comfortable to sleep with a bra on, while others prefer to go braless.

If you are concerned about the potential health effects of sleeping with a bra on, talk to your doctor. They can help you weigh the risks and benefits and make the best decision for you.
