Drastic Methods to Wake Yourself Up in the Morning
-
Move the Alarm Clock
-
Your alarm clock, or the alarm clock on your cell phone, is what most likely tells you to wake up in the morning. It is not uncommon for your alarm clock to be stationed next to your bed -- within arm's reach. This, however, is too convenient of a position because your arm can easily reach over and hit the snooze button, thereby delaying your wake-up time. For a more drastic approach, set your alarm clock far away from your bed, such as on the dresser or in the bathroom. Make sure it is loud enough for you to hear. This will force you to get out of bed when the alarm goes off in the morning because you won't be able to shut it off from your comfy spot.
Set Multiple Alarm Clocks
-
There is nothing peaceful about setting multiple alarm clocks, each with annoying alarm sounds. It will be so irritating to listen to that you will want to get out of bed, causing you to feel wide awake in the process. For the full effect, set multiple alarm clocks in different parts of the room so that you have to get up and walk around from one spot to another, thereby awaking your body.
Use a Buddy System
-
If you have a spouse or roommate that you share a home with, have the other person help you wake up in the morning. Using a buddy system allows you to rely on the other person's drastic methods for getting you out of bed, such as splashing water on your face, jumping up and down on the bed, shaking you violently or playing a trumpet in the same room. If you live alone, you can ask a friend or relative to call you in the morning to help wake you up.
Perform an Exercise Routine
-
If you need help waking up in the morning, jump out of bed and start immediately performing an exercise routine. Do 30 jumping jacks, 30 pushups or 30 situps. Get the blood flowing in your body and build up a little bit of a sweat. Your heart will begin to race and you will feel more naturally energized. As you exercise, drink water and play your music loudly to really give you that feel-good pump.
