Can you break a bone in your sleep?
It is possible, though very unlikely, to break a bone while asleep. There are, however, certain medical conditions that make people more susceptible to fractures while asleep. These include osteoporosis, a condition that makes bones weak and brittle, and osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare genetic condition that affects bone formation. In addition, people who take certain medications, such as corticosteroids, or who have certain medical conditions, such as hyperparathyroidism, may also be more likely to break a bone while asleep.
